Description

Chacra “Camino Viejo”

It is located 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) north of the town of Lago Puelo, in the province of Chubut, and 11 kilometers (6.9 miles) south of El Bolsón, province of Río Negro, in Argentina's Patagonia, on the bank of the Río Azul (Blue River), which flows along one of those dream valleys.

1) It covers 2.5hectares (6.17acres), on the banks of the Azul River.

- The main house is a 260 square meters (2800sq. feet), two-level building: 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, family room, studio, integrated kitchen and dinning area, playroom, and a spacious living-room with fireplace. There is also a utility area and a porch.

2) There is a two-level, 80-square-meter (861 sq. feet) cottage by the road, which is suitable for a keeper or a tenant. It’s got a kitchen and a dinning area, open fireplace and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor.

Both houses are made of brick and are connected to the regional supply of propane gas.

3) The 400 square meters (4300sq. feet) vegetable garden is completely fenced and surrounded by Cotoneasters' shrubs, which protect it from wind and frost. It's been strictly cultured for many years as an organic garden. There are aromatic herbs beds and a 5m (16.4feet)-wide by 7m (22.96feet)-long greenhouse with an iron structure.

There is a raspberry patch, which produces enough berries for family use in preserves and for selling.

The fruit orchard is equipped with micro perforated irrigation: there are cherry, plum, apricot, sour cherry, apple, and pear trees.

4) There is a heated, 6m (20feet)-wide by 11m (36feet)-long swimming-pool: it is 1m (3.28feet) deep on the shallow side, while 2meters (6.56feet) on the deep end. It is surrounded by a 3000sq meter-garden (0.7 acres) grown with beautiful flower beds, ornamental and fruit trees, as well as native species. The garden is watered by a 1.5HP pump taking up water from a well.

5) The brick barn, which is 6m (20feet) wide by 20m (65.6feet) long, accommodates 3 vehicles on one end, and has two closed sections on the other. One of them can be used for preserves cooking, or even as a dinning area: it’s got gas and water connections and tiled floor. The other area is used for gardening tools, having a 380volt power connection and wiring.

6) A smaller wooden barn, 8m (26feet)-long by 6m (20feet)-wide, is used for firewood storage, as a sheep corral and as garage for a tractor.

7) Another wooden barn: 14m (46feet) long by 5m (16.4feet) wide.

8) An 8m by 8m (26.2 by 26.2feet) open henhouse, with a 3 by 3m (11.4 by 11.4feet) shed with water and electricity connections.

9) This grazing meadow is a 1.5hectares (5.05acres) of open pasture area for sheep, cows or horses, is equipped with electric fencing, and irrigated by a mobile 1” pressure pump which covers an area 25m (82feet) in diameter.

10) This farm treasures a remnant of 1.2 hectares (2.97acres) of native forest on the left bank of the Azul River. It is a haven for Valdivian rainforest plant species which have already been cleared in the surrounding areas.

11) The entrance gate has been crafted of solid, local wood. By the gate, the 3.5m (11.5feet- wide by 2m (6.5feet)-long devise to prevent cattle from crossing, made of iron piping mounted on cast iron beams, has a maximum carrying capacity of 15 tones.
